Grave of Michel Saindon
This plaque is located at "Le Berceau de Kamouraska" on route 132 a few kilometers of Kamouraska village going to Notre-Dame-du-Portage direction. It was erected by the North American Association of Saindons on August 2005 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foundation.
"In this place was buried on October 23rd1780, Michel Saindon, surveyor and royal notary, husband of Marie-Yves Godin called Bellefontaine, ancestors of the North American Saindons. Arrived from France around 1730, Michel married Marie-Yves in Acadia. They had to flee to Quebec during the "Grand dérangement" and they are among the pioneers of Cacouna and L'Isle-Verte. »
