Burial of Marie-Yves Godin
This plaque is located in the cemetery of L'Isle-Verte. It was erected by the North American Association of Saindons on August 2005 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foundation.
"In this place was buried April 2nd 1795, Marie-Yves Godin called Bellefontaine, Acadian, wife of Michel Saindon, surveyor and royal notary, ancestors of the North American Saindon. Marie-Yves married Michel in Acadia, arrived from France around 1730. They had to flee to Quebec during the "Grand dérangement" and they are among the pioneers in the area of Cacouna and L'Isle-Verte. »
